Mr. Karra:
As you are the authority on the Domino Console, I am hoping you can
shed a little light on an authentication problem. Before I explain the problem,
please be assured that I use the Domino Console on a variety of servers with no
problem, and have read all your comments in the Notes.Net ND6 forum. I have
worked with Domino for over five years, and am dual-principal certified
(doesn't mean I don't make dumb mistakes, just that I usually don't repeat
them).
The problem: on an upgraded R5-ND6 Domino server (Win2000) I receive the
following message when I try to authenticate with the jconsole. "Simon is not
an administrator for server tiger."
- I have the server being started through the Java Console Controller (by
modifying the registry settings with the addition of "-jc").
- I can authenticate to the server as an admin (and use WebAdmin) via HTTP with
the same password that fails with jconsole.
- I have deleted the admindata.xml and restarted the server--still no
authentication
- I have deleted the admindata.xml, changed my password, and restarted the
server--still no authentication.
- The encrypted password in admindata.xml looks identical to the encrypted
internet password found in my person doc.
I consider the jconsole a truly powerful tool for administrating Domino
servers, and I want to demonstrate it to all of my clients. However, I can't
seem to overcome this hurdle.
